LANDSCAPE DESIGN

The most important question you can ask yourself is:

"How do I want to use my outdoor area?"

Is this an area that people drive by at 45 miles an hour, or is this an area where people walk past?  Would you like to have a few friends over to have a glass of wine around a fire pit this winter, or do you picture having a crowd around a pool?  Do you want to stroll through the garden clipping spring flowers to bring inside, or would you prefer to just look at the garden from your window?   Knowing what you want to achieve helps me create the perfect environment for you and your family.

You get what you want because I listen to you.  Sometimes you might know what you like or want.  Grandma had big blue flowers and you loved them?  Great!  Let's put some in the plan.  Hate thorns?  Just fine, no hollies for you. Your dog needs a place to poop?  No problem, let's give Spanky the area he needs.

But sometimes you don't know what you want;  you just know what your problem is, and that's ok too.  Water stands in your yard?  Gotcha, you might need a drain or a dry creek. Kids drag dirt into the school or house?  They might need a better place to play.

I'm here to help you figure it all out.

 LANDSCAPING PLAN

Most of my clients need their landscape design illustrated for them so they can picture what their yard could look like. When your custom plan is complete, you'll have something either to install all at once or work on in phases over time.

HOURLY CONSULTING

Some clients enjoy doing their own landscaping and just need an hour or two of advice to help jump-start their project.  If this is all you need, I'll come by and we'll discuss what you want to achieve ... when I leave, you will have a list of terrific (and hardy and easy to find) plants to use and quantities, names of people to call for jobs you can't do yourself, and any other resources you will need to help you get your project underway.

PROBLEM SOLVING

I can address all of your landscape problems: overcrowded and dying trees; drainage and erosion issues;  poorly shaped shrubs; unattractive curb appeal; too much shade for grass.  Sound familiar?

LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION

When your plan is done you'll need someone to bring it to life.  If you don't prefer to lace up your garden boots and get out your favorite shovel ... or let's just say you don't own a bobcat ... you can have your fabulous project installed by the landscape professional I have partnered with.  I have known him for over 15 years and can honestly say he makes me look good.

SEASONAL FLOWERS

So you wish you could have a floor garden greeting you by your front door or back by your pool but don't know what to buy?  No worries ... I know just how to choose the right combination of small shrubs, perennials, or flowers that reflect your style for your planters and can design and install a great grouping of annual flowers in your favorite colors.

PLAYGROUND PLANNING

Playgrounds are my sweet spot.  In my previous career, I had the terrific experience of being involved with renovating inner-city playgrounds. I know the critical safety issues involving playground design and installation and can help you put this into perspective so that your playground is a fun, challenging, imaginative, and safe place to be.

PREPARING YOUR HOME FOR SELLING

If your home doesn't look appealing from the outside, buyers won't  be eager to look inside.  And a neglected outside sends a signal that the home hasn't been well maintained.  Watching your budget, I can easily correct your problems and create a neat and tidy outdoor look that guides buyers to the front door and welcomes them home.
